The power line communication apparatus is provided with via a coupling circuit 2, which exchanges signals with an electric light line 101; a transmission circuit 7 for transmitting, to the electric light line 101, a signal-accommodating data via the coupling circuit 2; a reception filter circuit 3, which selectively passes signals within a predetermined frequency range among signals outputted from the coupling circuit 2; a receiving circuit 4 which acquires data from signals passed through the reception filter circuit 3; and a filter changeover switch SW1 for setting the predetermined frequency range, by switching selection of a first band-pass filter 31, a second band-pass filter 32, and a third band-pass filter 33.
