Abstract:

To further increase the energy efficiency of an overall device, and to suppress a shock when the connection of the output shaft of an internal combustion engine is switched.

An engine 22 is connected with a sun gear 31, a link gear 32 and a carrier 34 of a first planetary gear P1 through a high rotation type motor MG1, a driving shaft 65 and a clutch C1, and a case is connected through a brake B1. The engine 22 is connected with a sun gear 41, a link gear 42 and a carrier 44 of a second planetary gear P2 through a high torque type motor MG2, the driving shaft 65 and a clutch C2, and the case is connected through a brake B2. When a vehicle velocity is lower than a specified vehicle velocity, the clutch C1 is turned on, the clutch C2 is turned off, the brake B1 is turned off, and the brake B2 is turned on, and the engine and the motors MG1 and MG2 are controlled in such a manner that required torque Td* required by the driving shaft 65 can be outputted. When the vehicle velocity reaches the specified vehicle velocity or higher, the clutch C1 is turned off, the clutch C2 is turned on, the brake B1 is turned on, and the brake B2 is turned off, and the engine and the motors MG1 and MG2 are controlled.
