Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a protective system for submarine cable power supply system wherein the power supply voltage does not increase abnormally even when an earth test unit is removed.
CONSTITUTION: A termination unit 3 comprises a unit 4 for switching power supply to a submarine cable 1 and an earth test unit 5 for monitoring the state of earth from a power supply unit 2 through the power supply switching unit 4 and switching the earth at a plurality of points. The termination unit 3 is further provided with a plug-in switch 6 for detecting removal of the earth test unit 5 and interrupting the operation of the power supply unit 2.
