To provide a power supply system which does not carry out such wasteful power conversion such as converting a DC power created by photovoltaic power generation into an AC power and further converting the AC power into the DC power for power supply to an LED lighting appliance, thereby efficiently utilizing photovoltaic power and compensating power deficiency with a power from a commercial DC power supply when photovoltaic power is not sufficient as power to be supplied to the LED lighting appliance.

The power supply system 100 is equipped with: a first DC power supply device 110 which receives an incoming DC voltage from a solar battery panel 1101, converts the incoming DC voltage in magnitude into a first DC voltage to output it, and can change the magnitude of the first DC voltage; a second DC power supply device 120 which is connected in parallel to the first DC power supply device 110, receives an incoming commercial AC voltage, converts it into a second DC voltage to output it, and can change the magnitude of the second DC voltage through control; and a controller 130 which controls an output power from the first DC power supply device 110 by adjusting the magnitudes of the first DC voltage and the second DC voltage through control over the first DC power supply device 110 and the second DC power supply device 120.
