Abstract:
To provide a power supply system and a method for controlling the power supply system that prevent the discharge of an additional battery due to a dark current in a load.SOLUTION: A power supply system, which is installed in a vehicle having a normal driving mode by a driver and an autonomous driving mode, comprises a first load circuit, a second load circuit, a first relay, a second relay, and a controller. The first load circuit is connected to a first load, which operates with electric power from a main battery and is required for continuation of the normal driving mode. The second load circuit is connected to a second load, which operates with electric power from the main battery or an additional battery and is required for continuation of the autonomous driving mode. The first relay is provided to a feeder connecting the first and second loads to allow or disallow conduction between the first and second load circuits. The second relay allows or disallows conduction between the additional battery and the second load. The controller determines whether the driving mode of the vehicle is the normal driving mode or the autonomous driving mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
