To provide a power supplying device which extends the life of a semiconductor element, by suppressing the temperature ripples in the semiconductor elements of a power conversion device used in the drive circuit of a load undergoing the repetitive drive/stop of a load and a sudden change in a load amount.
AC power source 1 is converted through a converter 2 into DC and smoothed through a smoothing capacitor 3 to be supplied to an inverter device 4. The inverter device 4 includes a semiconductor element such as an IGBT, operates on a command from a control device 5 and converts the supplied DC into AC to be supplied to a motor 6. The motor 6 elevates/lowers a cage 8 and a counter weight 9 through a winding machine 7. A temperature detection means 10 detects the temperature of a semiconductor module constituting the inverter device 4, and the control device 5 controls the IGBT of the inverter device 4 to flow current, while the cage 8 is stopped, based on the detected result.
