To provide a power transmission device capable of performing a gear change by changing a pair of gears to transmit torque, performing a synchronous control when performing the gear change, and being miniaturized.
In this power transmission device, an internal combustion engine 2 and an electric motor 3 are connected to a differential mechanism 1, and the torque outputted from the differential mechanism 1 is selectively transmitted to output members 8 and 9. The internal combustion engine 2 is connected to a second rotation element Cr to be any one except a first rotation element Rg located at the center on a collinear figure, of three rotation elements. A first shift gear pair system having one pair or more of shift gears for selectively transmitting torque is provided between a third rotation element Sn except the first rotation element and the second rotation element and the output members 8 and 9. A switching mechanism SL for selectively connecting the electric motor 3 to the three rotation elements is provided. A second shift gear pair system having one pair or more of shift gears for selectively transmitting torque is provided between the internal combustion engine 2 or the second rotation element and the output members 8 and 9.
