Title:
POWER TRANSMISSION MECHANISM FOR DRIVING WHEEL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS63219407
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To solve the problem of water sealing in an amphibious vehicle by using chains and sprocket wheels as a transmission mechanism for transmitting power to driving wheels and by arranging the transmission mechanism at a position above the shaft of the driving wheels thereby eliminating a direct passing-through portion between the driving wheel shaft and a chassis. CONSTITUTION:A rear wheel 2 to be a driving wheel is arranged such that its wheel shaft 12 is located above a waterline and its outer diameter is set to a value necessary for coming into contact with the ground when driving on the land. The rear wheel 2 is provided on its outer side with a fin 3 as a paddle and on its inner side with a chain sprocket wheel 5 for driving. On the outer side of a chassis 1 on the other hand, the chain sprocket wheel 5 is fixed to a rotary shaft 9 above the waterline. A driving device 7 is arranged via the chain sprocket wheel 5 and a transmission shaft 11 on the inner side of the chassis 1. The rear wheel 2 is driven to rotate with the driving device 7. This eliminates a direct passing-through portion between the shaft of the driving wheel 2 and the chassis 1 to solve the problem of water sealing. This also makes the layout of a supporting structure for the driving wheel 2 and the driving device 7 easy.
