To provide a power unit which can immediately respond without waiting for the next pulse period even in case that load power increases rapidly.
This power unit is equipped with a power converter which outputs specified power voltage by switching DC power by pulse signals where pulse specifications are specified pulse ON periods and specified pulse cycles and then, smoothing it, a controller which computes new pulse specifications, based on the output of the power converter, and a pulse generator which generates pulse signals, based on the new pulse specifications directed from the controller. The pulse generator generates a pulse signal of new pulse specifications from the directed timing without waiting for the next pulse cycles no matter whether the timing of the new above pulse specifications being directed from the controller may be inside or outside the pulse ON period and besides no matter which point of time the directed timing may be at.
