Abstract:

To provide use of 2,4-diphenyl-1,3-dioxanes in the treatment of a disease or condition dependent on PPAR modulation, such as diabetes, cancer, inflammation, neurodegenerative disorders and infections.

There are described 1,3-dioxane derivatives and their use in the treatment of a disease or condition dependent on PPAR modulation, such as diabetes, cancer, inflammation, neurodegenerative disorders and infections. The invention also relates to uses of compounds as defined above, for the preparation of a medicament for the treatment of diseases or conditions which are responsive to modulation of PPAR-γ activity, in particular any of the PPAR-γ responsive diseases or conditions described herein below.
