Title:
PRE-TREATMENT OF HARDLY DEHYDRATING SILICA ORE FOR CHARGING COPPER SMELTING FURNACE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000234131
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To reduce the treating manhour by executing wet type pulverization after mixing silica ore and solid matte.

Dehydrating property of the silica ore can remarkably be improved in the dehydrating process by executing the pretreatment to both of the silica ore and the solid matter together. Therefore, natural drying and forcible drying of the silica ore before blending are unnecessary, and the manhour and the cost in the silica ore and solid matte pretreatment are remarkably reduced. Further, the storing equipments for the solid matte and the silica ore can be integrated. Reason for improving the dehydrating property of the silica ore in the dehydrating process after wet-type pulverizing, is because the silica ore grains surrounding the solid matte grains having good dehydrating property and precedently, dehydrated in the dehydrating process, is dehydrated and further, such process as to again dehydrate with the solid matte absorbing the moisture from the silica ore, is repeated. The mixture of the silica ore and the soild matte is desirable to be ≥0.5 pt.wt. of the solid matte to 1 pt.wt. of the silica ore. However, in the case a copper smelting furnace is a flash smelting furnace, the mixture is desirable to be ≤2 pts.wt. of the solid matte to 1 pt.wt. of the silica ore.
