Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel nozzle assembly having a premix pilot nozzle.SOLUTION: A premix pilot nozzle (200) includes a tip portion (220) having a downstream surface (236) that extends between a downstream end (240) of an inner wall (224) of the tip portion (220) and a downstream end (242) of an outer wall (226) of the tip portion (220). The downstream end (240) of the inner wall (224) terminates axially upstream from the downstream end (242) of the outer wall (226). At least a portion of the downstream surface (236) is curvilinear. The tip portion (220) further comprises a plurality of axially extending premix tubes (222) annularly arranged about the tip portion (220). Each of the premix tubes (222) defines a premix flow passage (228) through the tip portion (220). Each of the premix tubes (222) includes an outlet (234) that is axially offset from the downstream surface (236).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
