PURPOSE: To obtain easily the compounds useful as pesticides in high yield without using organometallic compounds which is difficult to be handled on an industrial scale.
CONSTITUTION: By reacting a 2-oxo-2-phenyol acetic acid derivative of formula I (wherein Hal represents halogen; R1 represents alkyl or alkoxy; R6 represents H or alkyl; (n) is 0 to 4) with an alcohol of the formula R7-OH (wherein R7 represents alkyl) or a diol of the formula HO-R7-R8-OH (wherein R7 and R8 are each divalent alkandiyl), a compound of formula II or III (wherein R3 represents alkyl) is obtained. By reacting the obtd. compound with a compound of the formula Ar-OH (wherein Ar represents aryl or heteroaryl) and reacting thus obtained compound formula IV or V with a hydroxyamine derivative of the formula R2-O-NH (wherein R2 represents alkyl), a compound of formula VI is obtd. By reacting amine of formula VII (wherein R4 and R5 are each H, alkyl, halogen alkyl or alkoxy) with optionally the reaction products of each steps and a compound of formula VI, a 2-oximino acetic acid derivative of formula VIII (wherein Z represents OR3 or NR4R5) is obtd.
