Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare 3-epi-glycyrrhetic acid by culturing human intestinal flora in a medium containing glycyrrhizin or glycyrrhetic acid.
CONSTITUTION: A liquid or human intestinal flora is added to an anaerobic nutrient medium containing glycyrrhizin or glycyrrhetic acid, and cultured anaerobically at 20W45°C, preferably 30W40°C for 10W80hr, preferably 24W48hr to hydrolyze the glycyrrhizin in the culture liquid to glycyrrhetic acid, and then the produced glycyrrhetic acid or the glycyrrhetic acid added to the medium beforehand is converted to 3-epi-glycyrrhetic acid, which is separated from the medium.
