Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the compd. of an important preceding stage of a dye with high purity and with high yield by a method wherein methyl benzoate is used as a reaction medium and a substd. anthraquinone carboxylic acid halogenide is reacted with an aminoanthraquinone compd.
CONSTITUTION: Anthraquinone carboxylic acid is suspended or dissolved in methyl benzoate and it is transformed to acid chloride by adding thionyl chloride in the presence of a tertiary amine (e.g. pyridine and triethylamine) at 95°C or lower. Then, an aminoanthraquinone compd. is added and condensation reaction is performed at a temp. of 80-180°C to obtain an acylamine of anthraquinone base.
