PURPOSE: To obtain an aqueous stable oily substance which is not solidified by reacting 4-hydroxyacetophenone with a hydroxyamine salt at a specified condition and to advantageously obtain the compd. for an analgesic without no problem on color and stability by performing Beckmann's transformation of this.
CONSTITUTION: 4-Hydroxyacetophenone is used as a raw material and this is reacted with a hydroxyamine salt such as hydroxyammonium sulfate at 50-100°C, especially 80-85°C for approximately 5-15 min and it is cooled to room temp. to obtain an aqueous 4-hydroxyacetophenone oil which does not be solidified. Then, this oily substance is fed into a ketoxime reactor contg. new water and then, a caustic compd. is added therein according to an ordinary method to obtain 4-hydroxyacetophenonoxime and Beckmann transformation of this oxime is performed to obtain an aimed compd. In addition, as the hydroxyamine salt, a commercially available water soln. contg. 30 wt.% hydroxyl ammonium sulfate is used.
