PURPOSE: To obtain the titled flameproofing agent having improved stability, dilution stability, impregnating and permeating properties, etc. without using a dispersing agent, by pulverizing and dispersing a polybrominated organic compound which is a solid at ordinary temperature into ultrafine particles in water containing a protective colloid by a wet ultrafine pulverizing and dispersing machine.
CONSTITUTION: (A) A polybrominated organic compound, e.g. 1,2,3,4,5,6-hexabromocycloheptane, is mixed with (B) a protective colloid, e.g. carboxylmethyl cellulose, and (C) water at a weight ratio between the of components (A) and (B) of (400W500):(1W50)g/kg and the remainder water by a wet ultrafine pulverizing and dispersing machine, preferably the horizontal type, to pulverize and disperse the component (A) to an average particle diameter <1μ and give the aimed flameproofing agent.
EFFECT: Improved heat resistance in hot curing without the deterioration of flameproofing effect due to the dispersing agent and corrosion of metal in contact with the flameproofed cloth.
