Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a blood serum sample for accurately measuring nortripterin.
SOLUTION: A blood serum sample for measuring nortripterin is added to a washed chromatographic column, this column is washed with an about 70% 0.1-M sodium acetate solution (pH about 4.2), about 30%-acetonitrile, and about 5-mM heptane sulfonate, a nortripterin metabolite is practically removed from the column, and about 50%-acetonitrile, about 25%-methanol, and about 25% 5-mM K2 HPO4 (pH about 7) are poured in the column to elute the residual nortripterin.
