Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prepare a rare earth metal complex useful as a catalyst for asymmetric synthesis by dispersing a fine powder of rare earth metal trichloride hydrate in a solvent, adding an optically active 1,1'-bi-naphthol deriv. dilithium salt and alkali metal compd. into the solvent to react.
SOLUTION: In the preparation of a catalyst for asymmetric synthesis to produce an optically active compd. by such a reaction to produce an asymmetric hydrophosphonyl group, a rare earth metal trichloride hydrate in a fine powder state (the rare earth metal Y is exemplified by and La) is dispersed in a solvent, and an optically action 1,1'-bi-2-naphthol deriv. dilithium salt expressed by formula I or formula II is added to the solvent to react. Then an alkali metal compd. (such as alkyl alkali metals and alkali hydroxides) is added to react. In formulae, R1, R2 are independently hydrogen or alkyl groups, and R1 may be positioned about 3 to 7 and R2 may be positioned about 3' to 6' or 7'.
