Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a strong joint force even at a high temp. without deteriorating a hard sintered body by joining the hard sintered body and a base metal by using beam energy.
CONSTITUTION: A composite blank is formed by fixing a small piece 2 made of sintered diamond at one corner of a base metal 3 made of super hard alloy. Said fixing is carried-out in a method where deterioration is not generated even on the heating at a temp. less than 800°C. Electron beam and laser beam are suitable as the above-described beam energy. The shape and dimension of the composite blank are determined equal to those of a standard chip made of super hard alloy.
