PURPOSE: To obtain a concentrated coal slurry suppressing the generation of extremely fine coal powder, using a msall amount of a slurry dispersant, by classifying roughly crushed coal, pulverizing the coarse particles with a wet mill to obtain a slurry, and mixing fine powder to said slurry.
CONSTITUTION: Coal is roughly crushed by a rough crusher 1 (e.g. hammer crusher), and classified into the coarse particles and fine powder by a classifier 2 (e.g. gas classifier). The coarse particles are pulverized with a wet mill 3 (e.g. wet ball mill) in the presence of water and a slurry dispersant (e.g. a surface active agent) to obtain a slurry. The slurry discharged from the wet mill 3 is mixed with the fine powder obtained by the above classification process by a mixer 4 (e.g. kneader) to obtain the objective slurry containing ≤1wt% of coarse particles coarser than 48 mesh.
EFFECT: The slurrying cost can be reduced, and the loss of heat energy for drying, etc. can be eliminated.
