Title:
PREPARATION OF DICARBOXYLIC ACID
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10245373
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a method for oxidizing a corresponding benzo condensed heterocyclic compound containing at least one N atom in the presence of hydrogen peroxide, a Broensted acid and an iron compound in a method for preparing a heterocyclic o-dicarboxylic acid containing at least one N atm.

Fe(NO3)3 is preferably used as an iron and HNO3 is used as a Broensted acid. The amount of the iron compound used is preferably 0.1-2mol% based on the amount of the benzo condensed heterocyclic compound, containing at least one nitrogen atom and used. If a copper compound or an organic electron transfer compound is used in addition to the iron compound, a higher yield can be obtained. The method can especially be used for preparing 2,3-pyridinecarboxylic acid from the corresponding quinoline compound.
