Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prepare hydrocarbon resins having a high softening point without forming gels as a by-product, by polymerizing a distillate containing unsaturated hydrocarbons obtained by the thermal cracking of petroleums by the use of a solution which is prepared by solubilizing an anhydrous aluminum halide with an unsaturated hydrocarbon component.
