Abstract:

To provide a method for preparing a foam excellent in thermal insulating properties and flame retardance and, simultaneously, low in an environmental load.

An inorganic organic composite foam can be obtained by mixing an aqueous solution of a phosphoric acid, a metal salt of carbonic acid, a urethane prepolymer having an NCO group and, if desired, an inorganic filler; pouring the resulting mixed liquid into a mold; and effecting foaming and curing in the mold. It is preferred that the mixing is carried out by a low pressure discharging agitation mixing method or the agitation mixing is carried out by a helically rotational or pin-equipped rotational agitation mixing method.
