Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a dispersion of fine particles having uniform particle size by preparing a microemulsion dispersed with an inorganic salt solution of a metal M1 in PFPE by using a surfactant, adding a salt of a metal M2 of a surfactant soluble in PFPE, adding alkali to this reaction system and heating.cooling, and separating an aqueous supernatant.
CONSTITUTION: A microemulsion is prepared by dispersing an aqueous phase consisting of a solution of an inorganic salt of a metal M1 (for example, divalent Co) in a perfluoropolyether (hereafter abbreviated as PFPE) by using a PFPE surfactant. A salt of a metal M2 (for example, trivalent iron), dissolved in PFPE, of an anion fluorinated surfactant is prepared. The M2 salt is added to the microemulsion to obtain a reaction system containing the metal M1 in the aqueous phase and the metal M2 in the oil phase, and the reaction system is added with alkali, heated and then cooled, and the aqueous supernatant is separated. Consequently, the dispersion is obtained which comprises mixed oxide particles having a particle size of ≤50 nm and a narrow particle size distribution.
