Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a high performance microcapsule, by treating a hydrophobic core substance containing a melamine/formaldehyde resin precondensate having predetermined formaldehyde substitution degree, an alkylation degree and hydrophobicity under a predetermined condition.
CONSTITUTION: A hydrophobic core substrance containing a melamine/formaldehyde resin precondensate with a formaldehyde substitution degree of 40W100%, an alkylation degree of 80W100% and hydrophobicity of 4W16 is prepared. This hydrophobic core substance is emulsified with an aqueous medium and the resulting emulsion is treated under a polycondensation promoting condition. The microcapsule obtained by treatment is dispersed in a non-aqueous medium.
