EXAMPLE: A compound of formula II.
USE: Photoconductive materials.
PREPARATION: To a hexazonium salt of formula III (X is anionic functional group), is added pref. 2W5 molar times, based on the hexazonium group, of a compound of formula IV to carry out a coupling reaction, thus obtaining the objective compound of the formula I. The starting material of the formula III mentioned above can be prepared, e.g., by the following process: a reaction is carried out between 9-substituted-3,6-dihalo-1-nitrocarbazole and p-nitrostyrene, the resulting novel 9-substituted-3,6-bis(p-nitrostyryl)-1-nitrocarbazole being reduced to form 9-substituted-3,6-bis(p-aminostyryl)-1-aminocarbazole followed by diazotization.
