Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a corresponding optically active alcohol derivative advantageously, by reducing asymmetrically an α, β-unsaturated ketone compound with reducing agent or a boron hydride compound system modified with a specific optically active amino-alcohol in the presence of Lewis acid, etc.

CONSTITUTION: A compound shown by the formula I [X is halogen, alkyl, haloalkyl, etc.; n is 1W5 integer; R1 is imidazoll-1-yl, or 1,2,4-triazl-1-yl; R2 is t-butyl, or phenyl which may contain substituent group (alkyl, alkoxy, phenyl, etc.)]) is asymmetrically reduced with a reducing agent of a boron hydride compound system modified with an optically active substance shown by the formula II (R is H, 1W6C alkyl, or aralkyl; * is asymmetric carbon) in the presence of Lewis acid, an organic acid or a mineral acid, so that a carbonyl group in the formula is selectively reduced and isomerization of steric configuration related to double bond is suppressed, to obtain the desired compound shown by the formula IIIuseful as an insecticide, etc. in high yield safely and efficiently.
