Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the compound with excellent productivity by crushing metallic silicon to a prescribed dimension, cooling under specified conditions and then grinding and directly reacting the resulting compound with an organic chloride so that structural defects of silicon efficiently occur and the reaction is easy to be allowed.
CONSTITUTION: The objective compound is obtained by crushing metallic silicon to reduce to particles measuring at least 5 mm in their smallest dimension and 15 mm in their largest dimension, cooling the silicon from 700°C to 120°C within a maximum of 2 seconds, and then grinding and directly reacting with an organic chloride (e.g. methyl chloride or the like).
