Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a polyamine useful for the preparation of a light-colored polyisocyanate.
CONSTITUTION: This improved process for preparing a polyamine mixture comprises reacting aniline with formaldehyde in the presence of an acid catalyst to derive a polyamine mixture, characterized in that the polyamine mixture is mildly reduced in the step of conducting catalytic or chemical hydrogenation in the presence of a metal catalyst. The process for preparing a light-colored polyisocyanate comprises reacting the polyamine mixture with phosgene.
