This preparation support device of a translation dictionary used by a machine translation device for translating a first language into a second language is provided with a post-compilation supporting means 100 for compiling a translation sentence translated by a machine translation device, and for dividing the compilation section into first ranges; a range specification means 110 for dividing the first ranges into second ranges which are smaller than the first ranges for specifying the compilation section; a specific range storing means 120 for retrieving the specific range in which the similarity of an input origin and the compilation result sentence is high; and a dictionary configuring means 130 for generating pairs of original words and the translation words, and for registering them in the translation dictionary of the machine translation device.
