PURPOSE: To prevent a fine polymer powder from scattering by the addition of an aq. soln. of a polyalkylene glycol to a water-sol. granular polymer obtd. by the polymn. of a neutral salt of a dialkylaminoalkyl (meth)acrylate, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A neutral salt of a dialkylaminoalkyl (meth)acrylate such as dimethylaminoethyl acrylate hydrochloride or a quaternized product therefrom such as β-methacryloyloxyethyltrimethylammonium chloride and/or acrylamide is polymerized by suspension or bulk polymn. to prepare a water-soluble granular polymer contg. 10wt% or less moisture. A fine polymer powder is prevented from scattering by the addition of 1W20wt% aq. polyethylene glycol or poly- propylene glycol soln. of 1W50wt% concentration to the water-soluble granular polymer.
