To provide a prepared unshaped refractory which contains no chromium oxide and no alumina cement and shows excellent corrosion resistance to alkali and chlorine.

This prepared unshaped refractory consists of 83-95% of refractory particles and 5-17% of a binder, wherein: the refractory particle component has a 3-15% content of zircon particles and a 85-97% total content of magnesia particles and spinel particles; and the binder component contains ≥25% of hydraulic alumina.
