Abstract:

PURPOSE:To provide an olefin polymerization catalyst which has a high melt tension and is excellent in rigidity, mechanical strength, impact strength, transparency, etc. CONSTITUTION:The title catalyst for olefin polymerization comprises a prepolymerized catalyst component (a), an organic compound of a metal selected from those of Groups I to III of the periodic table, and an electron donor as an optional ingredient. The component (a) is one obtained by prepolymerizing a 3C or higher alpha-olefin and a polyene with a mixture of a transition metal compound (b) and an organic compound of a metal selected from those of Groups I to III of the periodic table, the amount of the alpha-olefin and polyene being 0.01-2,000g per g of the compound (b). The title polymer comprises an olefin polymer and a copolymer of a 3C or higher alpha-olefin and a polyene.
