PURPOSE: To obtain a prepreg for a composite material excellent in strengths, modulus, impact resistance and interlaminar toughnes by distributing a thermoplastic resin reticular structure as a structural element near at least either surface of a prepreg essentially consisting of three structural elements.
CONSTITUTION: This prepreg essentially consists of the three structural elements: a reinforcing fiber (A) comprising long fiber a matrix resin (B) and a reticular structure (C) comprising a thermoplastic resin, wherein the thermoplastic reticular structure C is distributed near at least either surface of the prepreg. A prepreg in which the thickness between the intersection points of the networks of the thermoplastic retricular structure is smaller than the thickness of a supporting site is desirable.
