Title:
PRESERVATION OF BETA-TYROSINASE-CONTAINING MICROBE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03266978
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To ensure the title microbe to be preserved for a long period of time without degrading its activity by suspending the title microbe in an aqueous solution containing not less than a specified amount of at least one substance selected from cysteine, methionine, pyridoxal phosphate etc., followed by preservation in a frozen state.

CONSTITUTION: β-tyrosinase-contg. microorganisms belonging to Escherichia sp. such as Escherichia coli TD-001 (FERM P-10838) is aerobically incubated in a medium containing glucose etc. From the resulting cultured product, microbe is collected and washed, thus obtaining β-tyrosinase-contg, microbe. This microbe is then suspended in an aqueous solution containing ≥0.2% (W/V) of at least one substance selected from cysteine, methionine, glycine, alanine, valine and leucine or ≥0.0001% (W/V) of pyridoxal phosphate and preserved in a frozen state. Thereby, the microbe can be preserved for a long period of time with little degradation of the activity of the β-tyrosinase contained, thus being highly advantageous from the viewpoint of industry.
