PURPOSE: To assure a prescribed high hydrostatic pressure and to perform satisfactory compression forming of a material to be treated in the stage of containing said material into a pressure vessel and closing the vessel with a cover, by providing a mechanism for adjusting automatically the pressurizing water in the vessel to a fully filled state.
CONSTITUTION: A mechanism 9 for holding a cover is lowered by a cylinder 11 and the suspension hooks 12 of the cover 4 and the connectors 13 of a vessel 7 which is a material to be treated are engaged with each other, then the vessel is hoisted. A pressure vessel 1 is positioned to right under the vessel 7 from a window frame 5' of a press frame 5 by a cylinder 6. The mechanism 9 is lowered to contain the vessel 7 into the vessel 1; at nearly the same instant, an opening 2 is closed with the cover 4. Then the level of the water (a) for pressurization contained in the vessel 1 rises and the excess water is discharged through a discharge port 14 and is detected with a flow switch 15. If the water (a) is too small to be discharged, the water (a) is replenished automatically through the water feed and discharge pipe 17 and water feed and discharge hole 4b of the mechanism 9 by the signal from the switch 15, so that the inside of the vessel 1 is kept always filled with the water and the gas is expelled therefrom.
