PURPOSE: To provide a press jacket having a long life and a slight wear.
CONSTITUTION: This press jacket 10 for dehydrating a material belt in a press device for dehydrating a paper web especially in a press gap of a paper making machine, is provided by installing a band 11 and also an inside layer 20 which is made from an elastomer matrix material in the reverse side to the material belt. In the matrix material, reinforcing threads 16, 18 are imbedded, and also an outside layer 22 having a strong wear resistance at the belt side is provided on the inside layer. In producing it, since the elastomer matrix material is formed by molding on a molded part, at the same time the reinforcing threads are involved and the second layer 22 is formed by molding before the curing of the first layer 20, an especially good adhesion between both layers is obtained.
