PURPOSE: To surely and rapidly carry out the alignment and fixation of both ends of a press shell by equipping a holding means of the press shell of a press roll with a positioning pin.
CONSTITUTION: Journals 24a at both ends of a nonrotating support body 24 are supported in a bearing block 25. A press shoe 26 is arranged on a cutout region 24b at the outside of the support body 24 and the circumference of the support body 24 and the press shoe 26 is covered with a tubular endless press shell 10. Both the end parts of the press shell 10 are fastened and supported between a shell supporting disc 12 and a clamping flange 15 attached through an antifriction bearing 13 to a flange 14 fixed to the journals 24a. The fastening of the clamping flange 15 to the shell supporting disc 12 is performed by a screw 16. A positioning pin 30 is laid inside the claming position of the screw 16 in the radius direction, approximately in parallel with an axis and outwardly projecting on the face side of the shell supporting disc 12.
