Abstract:

Half-mould esp. for mfr. of gramophone record discs has a cooling and/or heating duct system evenly distributed beneath the pressing surface of the half-mould and fitted with an inelt and an outlet collecting chamber. The duct system is formed by ducts running from inlet collecting chamber to discharge collecting chamber. Their total cross-section immediately upstream of the discharge collecting chamber is reduced w.r.t. the smallest total cross-section over their courses between inlet and discharge collecting chambers. Design ensures even and rapid cooling and/or heating of the moulding cpd. by a suitable medium, over the entire pressing surface, thus resulting in high-quality mouldings.
