To provide a pressing apparatus that can attain press formation without producing powder dust or the like while saving electricity, by using linear expansion of a block made of aluminum.
The pressing apparatus includes: an upper die plate 4 where an upper die 2 is fixed; an elevating and moving means 5 that elevates and moves a lower die 3 so that it may become close or apart to/from the upper die 2; a block 6 made of aluminum that is provided with a plurality of heaters 7 in its inside and can be moved to the lower side of the lower die 3 when the lower die 3 is elevated to approach to the upper die 2 by the elevating and moving means 5; and a supporting plate 8 for supporting the block 6. The block 6 is moved to the lower side of the lower die 3 when the lower die 3 is elevated by the elevating and moving means 5, and it is heated by the plurality of the heaters 7 to be expanded linearly, so that the lower die 3 is pressed from the lower side to form a formation material by pressing.
