Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain comfortable support pressure of a pad device in a pressure control type expansible pad device, by equipping a sensor under an expansible pad supporting a patient and controlling the flow of a fluid discharged from the pad by the pressure detected by the sensor.
CONSTITUTION: This device has an expanding pad 1 consisting of two pairs of cells 2 and 3, each pair of cells 2 and 3 are supplied with air by a compressor 4 via a pair of supply lines 6 and 7 through a rotary valve 5, thereby each cell 2 and 3 is reciprocally expanded/contracted every predetermined time. Each cell 2 and 3 is connected with a sensor pad 11 arranged under the pad 1 via connecting lines 20 and 21 with check valves 9 and 10. The sensor pad 11 has a compressible tube 12 arranged on a convolute path, this tube can be opened to the air through a bypass valve 13, thereby air pressure of each cell 2 and 3 is controlled by the sensor pad 11 which senses a patient's weight.
