To rapidly infer abnormal combustion, to stop it and to improve safety of a combustion equipment by providing a flow rate sensor for sensing a flow rate of liquid fuel in a fuel supply means, and stopping combustion when a detected flow rate value of the sensor reaches a predetermined abnormal flow rate.
A flow rate sensor 8 for sensing a flow rate of liquid fuel supplied to a nozzle 4 of an upstream part via a pipeline is attached to the pipeline for connecting a fuel pump 2 for constituting a fuel supply means to an oil strainer 6. Meanwhile, flow rate sensor 8 is attached to a pipeline for connecting a solenoid valve 3 for constituting the fuel supply means to the strainer 6. A microcomputer placed in a controller 11 always monitors a sensed flow rate from the sensor 8, judges a combustion equipment abnormality (e.g., clogging of the nozzle 4 or failure of the pump 2) if the flow rate is abnormally low or high, stops the pump 2, closes the valve 3 to interrupt a burning operation.
