Abstract:

PURPOSE: To securely prevent contact and collision of excavators, by detecting main parts and linear position of respective excavators and operating the actual distance of both excavators and braking them when the actual distance gets smaller than the sum of the proximity limit.
CONSTITUTION: Proximity limits are set in respective main parts of a plurality of excavators cutting the ground while shifting within a working chamber of a caisson and the whole area is covered with a regulating range 10, 10'. These main parts are replaced with points P1, P2, P'1, P'2 and lines La, La' to detect the positions and operate respective actual distances of the points and lines. The actual distance is compared with the sum (i) of proximity limit and it is monitored whether respective braking ranges of two adjacent excavators on a plane are in contact with each other or not. When the actual distance has gotten smaller than (i), it is determined that they have a risk of collision, and they are braked until risk is gone.
