To obtain a preventive or therapeutic agent for pruritic dermatological diseases having little adverse effects by suppressing itching sensation accompanied by the pruritic dermatological disorders such as atopic dermatitis, urticaria, contact dermatitis, xerosis, prurigo and the like, especially the preventive or therapeutic agent for atopic dermatitis.
Centipeda minima is found to strongly suppress peripheral nerve extension induced with NGF by evaluating suppression effect to the peripheral nerve extension induced with NGF by using PC12 cells frequently used for evaluating the nerve cells, as they have very similar properties to those of the nerve cells. Therefore, (1) the preventive or therapeutic agent for the pruritic dermatological disorders containing Centipeda minima and (2) the preventive or therapeutic agent for atopic dermatitis containing Centipeda minima, are provided.
