To provide a technique for preventing or treating tubulointerstitial injury.SOLUTION: The present invention discloses a method to screen for an agent for preventing or treating tubulointerstitial injury, the method including the step of determining whether a test substance inhibits the functions of Mitotic Spindle Positioning (MISP) protein, wherein the inhibiting the functions of MISP protein by the test substance shows the test substance being a candidate for the agent for preventing or treating tubulointerstitial injury.SELECTED DRAWING: None
