Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a primary battery compatible with a dry battery.SOLUTION: The primary battery includes a triiron tetraoxide powder and manganese dioxide powder at the cathode side, and zinc at the anode side. Although the triiron tetraoxide powder itself is poor in reactivity as the active material of a battery, by using the triiron tetraoxide powder together with the manganese dioxide powder as the cathode, the triiron tetraoxide effectively functions as the cathode active material. Triiron tetraoxide is represented by the chemical formula FeO. In addition to the triiron tetraoxide which is industrially synthesized and processed, an ore such as magnetite sand or magnetite may be used after being grounded.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
