Abstract:

To obtain a primer for hydrogel exhibiting good adhesivity to a hydrogel by merely contact with the hydrogel without the need of any expensive drive nor time, by making the primer include an inorganic filler and a water-soluble polymer.

This primer is obtained by including (A) a pref. hydrophilic- surfaced inorganic filler having the affinity with hydrogel (e.g. silicic anhydride) and (B) a water-soluble polymer (e.g. hydroxymethyl cellulose, polyvinyl alcohol) in the weight ratio A/B of pref. (95:5) to (55:45). The more this primer contains the component A, the higher both the water absorptivity and water resistance. On the contrary, the more this primer contains the component B, the lower the water aborptivity and water resistance. By the way, a dispersion stabilizer, surfactant and/or antimicrobial agent or the like may be included in this primer.
