To easily perform payment of charge in a print system without using an expensive device such as a coin machine.

In a print P to be obtained in a printer 5 of the print system, a bar code B5 corresponding to charging information of the print is recorded in a non-image area A2 except an image area A1 in which an image is recorded. The charging information is generated in a control means 2 according to the contents of the print and stored in a data base 4. A user brings the obtained print P to a check-out counter where a cash register 7 is installed. When a clerk reads the bar code B5 by a bar code reader 7, its information is transferred to a control means via a LAN and the control means 2 reads the charging information corresponding to the information from the data base 4 and transfer it to the cache register 7. The user performs the payment of print charge based on the charging information at the cash register 7.
