PURPOSE: To effectively prevent print smearing due to satellite particles, by letting an air stream flow through a nozzle to control the satellite particles such that the satellite particles are moved to a prescribed position to adhere to main particles.
CONSTITUTION: The ink jet recording apparatus comprises a piezoelectric element 1, a vibrating plate 2, an ink feeding chamber 4, a nozzle 5 and others. The apparatus is provided with an air passing tube 9 having an air blowing outlet 10 at its forward end, and an air stream is issued through the air blowing outlet 10 when an ink jet driving apparatus is in operation. Thus, the satellite particles 13-1 that have been produced when ink droplets are jetted from the nozzle 5 be become particles and would otherwise result print smearing are moved to a prescribed position by the air stream, and are combined with main particles 12-3 jetted from the nozzle to be deposited on a paper surface 15, so that an ink jet recording output without ghost and with an excellent printing quality is obtained.
